From these mountains

Good coffee, made close to home.

Mountain Gap Coffee started with one guy from these mountains, who left for a long career in tech and always meant to bring the adventure home. We roast to order in small batches and stamp every bag with the date it was roasted, so what shows up in your kitchen still tastes like it just left ours.

  • We buy for the farm, not the flag

Specific lots from specific producers and co-ops. If we can name the farm, we do. If we can't yet, we say so โ€” no invented romance.

  • We roast to order, twice a week

We roast twice a week. Your bag is stamped with the day it was roasted.

  • We won't claim what we can't source

No "essence of Appalachia" on a Guatemalan coffee. Notes are foods you can taste, not adjectives that fit anything.

The one recipe that fixes most cups

If your coffee tastes flat or sharp, it's usually the ratio, not the beans. Start here, adjust from there.

  1. Weigh it: 22 g coffee to 350 g water, medium grind.
  2. Water just off boil โ€” count thirty seconds after it stops.
  3. Pour in stages, finish around three minutes, taste.
